On June 20, 21 and 22, the INCAE Business School and the Strachan Chair in Philanthropy and Social Investment organized the second edition of the conference "Beyond High Growth Entrepreneurship: The Underground Series". This event brought together an outstanding group of professors and doctoral students from various universities in the Americas and Europe, with the aim of sharing and advancing their understanding of entrepreneurship in contexts beyond the high-growth.

Participants included representatives from institutions such as the University of Oxford, the University of Massachusetts, Concordia University, Cornell University, the University of Texas at San Antonio, McGill University, the University of Costa Rica, the University of Connecticut, Queen's University, the Ivey School of Business and the University of St. Gallen.

During the first day of the event,one-on-one sessions were held in which senior and experienced faculty provided feedback on their research to doctoral students and junior faculty. These sessions facilitated direct mentoring and peer review, fostering a collaborative learning environment and key networking for the development of collaborative work.

The closing of the first day also included a panel called "Entrepreneurial Legacies and Family Businesses" which featured the outstanding participation of Harry Strachan, an entrepreneur and former rector of INCAE; Melissa Gonzalez, current COO of Enlace TV; and Luis Morales, an entrepreneur in the construction sector and various investments.

On the second and third days, professorsand students presented their research and work in progress to the entire group. These presentations were aimed at exchanging conclusions and fostering academic discussions through plenary sessions.

About the Strachan Chair

The Strachan Chair was founded by entrepreneur, philanthropist and former Chancellor of INCAE, Harry W. Strachan. It is funded by the Strachan Foundation and friends of Bain Capital, with the objective of promoting social investment strategies. Periodically, the Chair organizes activities and live cases with entrepreneurs in the region who are generating social and environmental impact, so that they can share their experiences and learning with the students of INCAE .
