In the past, when I analyzed how I could become a leader who inspires others, I thought I would need a lot of money, be from an influential family or have gifted intelligence. However, as I discussed in part 1 of this articleAfter several days in Silicon Valley talking to executives from the world's largest technology companies, I received some critical advice on how to be a global leader.

Contrary to what I thought, the recommendations did not revolve around technical skills or economic capacity. They were much simpler than that:

It is possible: perhaps the most important message can be summed up in a simple cliché: "believe in yourself, it is possible". One of the most recurring comments was that ideas thrive if you work hard, and if you are going to develop a project, why not dream bigger?

How many times have we stated that we will not achieve something, even without trying, because we made cheap excuses or let ourselves be limited by fear. Today, we would not enjoy using an IPhone if Steve Jobs had let himself be overcome by fear and obstacles.

Start with a problem: whether you are going to start a company or start a project, do it to solve a problem. Don't make a decision just to make money or to have something to do, do it because you are trying to make a change and find a solution. What are the local problems near you? Start by trying to solve them and then go on to solve the global problems.

Learn resilience: develop the ability to flexibly assume limit situations and overcome them, as both business and life are full of such circumstances.

You've been doing it forever, think of all the things you've overcome to this day. Your first day at school, a failed exam, a failed job or a disappointment in love. If you're here, it's because you can weather whatever comes your way.

Have fun: the most important thing! Have fun while working for what you want, why spend hours of your time and energy on something you don't enjoy?

Being tied to a job you hate just for a paycheck can be as unhealthy as a medical condition. On the contrary, passion is what makes you move, sacrifice and do things you may not have even contemplated.

Now that you know how to be a global leader, what's holding you back from becoming one? Maybe one day Latin America could be the next "Silicon Valley", and to achieve that level of development, we need to start by becoming global leaders. Do you dare to be one of them?
