"Ask yourself if what you are doing today brings you closer to where you want to be tomorrow" - Walt Disney.

My name is Maria Fernanda Lopez Escober, I am a senior student in the School of Agribusiness Management Engineering at Escuela Agricola Panamericana, Zamorano. I am Honduran, and currently, as part of the university's internship program, I am doing my internship at INCAE Business School in Costa Rica. This internship is being made possible thanks to the support of the Steve Aronson Chair of Strategy and Agribusiness. I will have the honor of working with a renowned researcher and professor, Professor Esteban R. Brenes, who is the holder of the chair.

I am extremely pleased with the opportunity. The campus certainly possesses a unique beauty, not only for its abundant flora and fauna, but for the experience offered to both students and anyone who visits.

I only started this experience a week ago, but it has been very rewarding. I am currently working to learn about the case discussion methodology for which INCAE is renowned. The ultimate goal is to be able to contribute to the writing and research of some cases, and to work closely with Professor Brenes and other collaborators. My goal is to learn as much as possible, gain experience from highly qualified people, contribute as much as possible to the institution, and clearly, enjoy the campus experience.

INCAE is an institution highly recognized for its excellence as one of the best business schools in Latin America. Zamorano students know the excellence of this institution and admire the professionals who have graduated from it, and many wish to study there. The relationship between INCAE and Zamorano has been greatly strengthened in recent years, which opens up endless opportunities for development in the Latin American agri-food sector.

It is clear that the Agribusiness sector is indispensable in the economy of Latin America, however, it presents multiple problems such as low productivity, poor use of resources, social conflicts, stagnation in primary production, among many others. It is necessary the involvement of better professionals and leaders, who are aware of what agribusiness involves and can face and manage the challenges that hinder development, this is where the importance of the relationship between these two institutions comes in.

At the end of this internship I hope to be able to take with me multiple experiences and knowledge that will contribute to my professional and personal life, and allow me to contribute in some way to the development of the agricultural sector, and my country as such.
