Biography

D. in Economics from Harvard University. She is director of the Institute of the Americas in Miami and professor at the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami.
the University of Miami. She is also a research professor at the National Institute of Public Health and a senior economist and director of the Universality and Competitiveness in Health program at the Mexican Health Foundation.

Her work has been recognized in The Lancet, Science, WHO Bulletin, Newsweek en Español, and Cancer Today. She also chairs the Latin American Union against Women's Cancer (2016-2017).
