Mahsa Memarian is a Professor of Finance at INCAE Business School. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Urban / Real Estate Economics, Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance. In particular, she analyzes the effect of urban characteristics of cities and their management system on firms' performance and financial performance.
Professor Mahsa is a supervisor for the Journal of Business Research (JOBR), and is also a member of the Editorial Board of the journal INCAE Business Review, the Academic Finance Committee for Women (AFFECT) of the American Finance Association, the Latin American and Caribbean Women Economists Committee (WELAC), and the Latin American and Caribbean Urban Economics Network Economic Association (LACEA). Before starting her academic career, she worked as a mechanical engineer and market research specialist in different industrial sectors where she was involved in several projects in production and corporate finance.
She holds a Ph.D. in Financial Management from IESE Business School, University of Navarra (Spain). She holds a Master of Science degree in Management Research from IESE Business School and a Master of Science degree in Socioeconomic Systems Engineering specializing in Economics and Finance from Sharif University of Technology (Iran). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran. Mahsa has Persian and Spanish citizenship and International Mission Status from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica.
