The award-winning women of this first edition were selected for their professional commitment, for their comprehensive assessment and commitment to conscious capitalism, for their notable contribution to the creation of happier and more productive work environments, for their unceasing search for the symbiosis between professional challenges and family reconciliation, and for their desire for constant innovation.
For Camelia Ilie, Dean of Strategy and Institutional Affairs and Chair of the Center for Inclusive and Sustainable Leadership at INCAE Business School, these awards seek to give visibility to the transformative leadership of women with an impact on society, organizations and new generations. "We hope that the stories of the awarded women will serve as a source of inspiration for future leaders to contribute to the sustainable development of our organizations and society," she added.
The event was held at the campus of Latin America's leading business school in La Garita, Alajuela, and brought together women from Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Canada, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
"Women leaders who transform are the ones who make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of families. Undoubtedly, these women make us better and live happier lives. We are happy to have been able to make the first of many editions we have in mind," said Lesslie Davidovich, CCO of Awards of Happiness.
The "Women Transformational Leaders (MLT) Award" event highlighted the work of women in various categories that reflect the many facets of female leadership in business:
Pedro Galván, CEO of Awards of Happiness, detailed that it is fair and necessary to recognize the leaders in the region who have that transformational spirit that makes them unique. "For us, continuing to grow with INCAE is fundamental to achieve the perfect union between the best training and our global recognitions in organizational happiness," added Galván.
Ruth Marie Canahuati, Director of Audience Engagement for GRUPO OPSA and Estrategia & Negocios magazine, pointed out that since its foundation in 1999, the magazine has sought to make visible the leadership of women in the economic and social spheres of Central America.
"In 2017, the Mujeres Desafiantes Special and Event was born, which in 8 years has projected more than 400 Central American women leaders who are entrepreneurs, innovators, pioneers, public officials, scientists, in the orange economy, women without limits and new generation. The alliance with AoH and INCAE to recognize the Mujeres Líderes Transformadoras 2024, is a great step to continue building a Central America with equity".
