On July 30, MBA 2024 students at INCAE Business School had the opportunity to enjoy a unique and enriching afternoon.  An Encounter with Flavors

The tasting began with a tasting of Calvet Celebration Sparkling Wine, elegantly paired with a salmon carpaccio. This combination offered an experience of freshness and smoothness that prepared the palate for the delights to follow.

The students then tasted a Marius Vermentino, accompanied by shrimp minicrepas. This white wine, with its citrus and floral notes, perfectly complemented the flavors of the seafood, creating a perfect harmony between drink and food.

The third wine presented was a Baron Phillipe Merlot, paired with a cheese and cold meat skewer. The fruity notes and soft tannins of the Merlot intertwined sublimely with the salty and smoky flavors of the cheese and cold meats.

Afterwards, attendees enjoyed a Condado de Haza Crianza, paired with a Sish kebab. This red wine, known for its complexity and depth, elevated the dining experience by pairing with the rich, spicy flavors of the kebab.

The tasting culminated with a tasting of a Coppola Zinfandel, leaving a lasting impression with its intense flavors and distinctive character.

An Afternoon of Learning and Enjoyment

Beyond the tasting, students learned to recognize and appreciate the distinctive characteristics of each wine, as well as how to pair them appropriately with the foods that best complement and enrich their flavors.

The event, organized by Dean Bernard Kilian, with the support of Student Life, and enhanced by the experience and knowledge of sommelier Diego Garzón, provided students with a different kind of evening, where they exchanged books for glasses and exquisite dishes.

These types of activities not only provide a respite from their intense academic training, but also enrich their education with cultural and sensory experiences that are equally important in the development of future leaders.

To close the event with a flourish, certificates of participation were presented to the attendees, recognizing their interest and dedication in this unique experience.

It is worth mentioning that Grupo Pampa has excellent connections with INCAE. Both its Commercial Director Eduardo Solano (Post MBA 2012) and its Marketing Manager, Guilhem Maury (MBA 2010), are graduates of our institution, which reinforces the ties and commitment of our community to excellence.

"Organizing this wine tasting was an extremely rewarding experience. We wanted to offer our MBA 2024 students an opportunity to explore and learn outside the classroom, and I am convinced that this type of activity is essential for their overall development. The tasting not only allowed them to appreciate the complexity and art behind each wine, but also to understand the importance of culture and tradition in different aspects of life. Watching them enjoy, learn and share moments together was truly inspiring. I am deeply grateful to Diego Garzón and Grupo Pampa for their valuable collaboration and for making this afternoon unforgettable for all of us."

In short, the wine tasting on July 30 was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the MBA 2024 students, who took away with them new knowledge and, without a doubt, indelible memories of this exquisite experience.
