Good news! INCAE Business School has been recognized as a Level 5 Pioneer School in the 2024 edition of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR). Only five other schools worldwide share this prestigious level, highlighting INCAE 's commitment and achievements in terms of social impact and sustainability.

IRP 2024. General Summary.
This marks a great milestone for our institution, in the framework of the commemoration of its 60th anniversary, since in the previous editions, since 2021, it had always been part of Level 4, being recognized as a Transforming School.
The PIR results were announced today at the UN PRME Global Forum, where INCAE was one of 77 business schools from 30 countries that participated in the assessment this year. The PIR is an assessment by students and for students, rating how business schools address social and sustainable challenges, preparing their students to be responsible business leaders.

Schools evaluated 2021-2024
At INCAE, data collection was organized and led by the Sustainability Club students, who distributed the IRP survey across campus. This year, 119 students responded to the survey, providing valuable feedback on how our institution addresses social and sustainable challenges. Katherine Chavez, Global MBA 2024, president of the Sustainability Club XXIV indicated:
"Achieving a Level 5 Positive Impact Rating (PIR), a distinction shared by only five other schools worldwide, is a significant milestone for the community Incaísta. Chairing the Sustainability Club was transformative, as I experienced sustainability from academic aspects to the day-to-day on campus. Working with the Sustainability Committee, I learned the importance of intentionality in our actions to ensure a positive impact. This achievement is a reflection of the collective effort of INCAE through its students, fraternities, previous generations of Sustainability Clubs, faculty and administrative staff, which reaffirms our commitment to move from being the best in the world, to being the best for the world."

What students around the world want their school to do and not do
Participating in the PIR demonstrates the value that INCAE places on feedback and student voice. Dean Bernard Kilian commented:
"This recognition reflects our continued commitment to excellence and improvement by listening to our students. We are proud to be a pioneering school and will continue to work to strengthen our positive impact in the region, in fulfillment of our mission."
The IRP rating survey asks students 20 questions on seven relevant impact dimensions within three areas: Energizing, Educating, and Engaging. The overall PIR score is used to position schools into five tiers, each indicating a different level of achievement. This assessment provides business schools with a defined tool to measure and communicate their transformational progress.
Prof. Thomas Dyllick, founder of PIR and member of the Supervisory Board, said:
"While prospective students now have an alternative source for selecting their business school, schools use the PIR primarily to measure and communicate their transformational progress. The student voice has become a true source of value."

The PIR was created by business school experts together with global NGOs such as WWF, Oxfam, and the United Nations Global Compact. International student associations such as Oikos, AIESEC and Net Impact collaborate with PIR, supported by VIVA Idea (Costa Rica), The Institute for Business Sustainability Foundation and Fehr Advice, both from Switzerland.
This achievement is a testament to INCAE 's commitment to excellence in business education and positive impact on society. We will continue to work to maintain and improve our standards, always listening to and valuing the voice of our students.
