Last Wednesday, November 27, the campus of INCAE Business School became the stage for the II Edition of the Financial Leaders and Visionaries of the Region Awards, an event that brought together outstanding entrepreneurs, executives and visionaries to reward their contributions to innovation, sustainability and economic transformation in Latin America.

This event, organized by Awards of Happiness®, reaffirmed the importance of recognizing the impact of leaders and companies that are redefining the region's business landscape. For INCAE, hosting this prestigious event represents an alignment with our mission to develop transformational leaders and promote sustainable development in Latin America.

The ceremony awarded 45 leaders in two main categories: Financial and Visionaries.

  • In the financial sector, recognition was given to executives who, from their positions, have promoted sustainable economic development and the quality of banking services in the region. Roberto Zamora, executive president of LAFISE, and Luis Fernando Samayoa, executive president of BAC Guatemala, were among the award winners.
  • In the Visionaries category, awards were given to leaders who, with disruptive strategies and innovative approaches, are transforming their industries. Entrepreneurs such as Abraham Bichara, CEO of AES, and Rolando Carvajal, innovation director of FIFCO, were among the honorees.

In addition, certifications were awarded to 21 companies that stood out in key areas such as Organizational Culture, Female Empowerment, YZ Generations and Social Power, highlighting their commitment to sustainability, inclusion and well-being.

During the event, professors and researchers from INCAE contributed with presentations on key topics for leadership in the region:

  • Jaime Garciaresearcher at CLACDS/INCAE presented the talk: "Leading sustainable strategic transformation". During his speech, he highlighted how in a volatile and complex world, companies face environmental and technological megatrends that demand transformation. The key to success lies in implementing strategies that integrate economic, social and environmental value, led from top management with a clear purpose. This approach considers all stakeholders: employees, customers, community and value chain, allowing companies to adapt and prosper while generating positive impact.

  • Juan Carlos Barahonaprofessor at INCAE, presented the advances and challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the business context and its impact on the region.

These interventions reinforced INCAE 's focus on leading the dialogue on sustainability and technological innovation, positioning the institution as a knowledge center of reference in Latin America.

The event also had the support of important organizations: Asociación Líderes, Cultura, Employer Branding (ALCEB), Revista RRHH Digital and Revista Estrategia y Negocios, who joined in the recognition and support of this regional award, reinforcing the relevance of this space to highlight business leadership in Latin America.

This recognition not only celebrates business success, but also the responsibility and vision for the future that are transforming Latin America. By being part of this event, INCAE reaffirms its purpose of transforming lives for a better future in the region, aligning its values of innovation, excellence and respect with initiatives that promote sustainable leadership.

The gala concluded with an exclusive dinner, where attendees were able to share experiences, create synergies and reflect on the role of leadership in the economic and social progress of the region.

INCAE Business School is proud to have been part of this transformative event and will continue to be a meeting point for leaders working for a more sustainable and inclusive future.
