During the Annual Meeting Incaísta 2017, which took place at the CWKG Campus, Professor Ryan Schill surprised many with an unusual workshop on Lean Startup. If you have been in contact with the world of entrepreneurship in recent years you have probably heard about this term, and this methodology, which seeks to reduce the risks and costs of entrepreneurship, optimizing the process of hypothesis and testing of the idea, has been echoed in the environment as it allows ventures to be more efficient. Here are the most outstanding features of Lean Startup:

1. Lean Startup does not guarantee success, but rather that failure will be cheaper.

According to the methodology, everything starts with an idea that solves a problem for a specific group. The first step is then to create a prototype and launch it as soon as possible to the market, in order to measure the acceptance of the prototype by the target market. This allows learning from the market with short iterative cycles to further optimize the product or service, or otherwise pivot.

2. What really matters is what the customer thinks.

That's right, even if you think your idea is great, what matters is whether your customers recognize that they have the problem you want to solve and are willing to pay to solve it. The goal is to find a synergy between the vision of the project and what the customers want.

3. It is complemented by Lean Canvas

This Canvas allows you to have a schematic view of the key points of the venture in a faster way. It is a matter of setting out your value proposition and having the possibility of adjusting it as the hypotheses of a business idea are validated.

4. It is important to recognize the difference between vanity indicators and actionable indicators.

It is important that you define what your actionable indicators are, these are the ones that will allow you to measure your performance, and will help you make decisions to know what the next step is.
