By María del Carmen Aceña. Free Press. I was recently invited to an event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE) Business School. The project began in 1963 with the visit to Costa Rica of President John F. Kennedy, who expressed the need to train human capital for the future of Central America. Then, in 1964, with business funds, USAID resources and the support of Harvard University, the first Senior Management Program (PAG), a very high level program that influenced the management of companies, was carried out in Guatemala; the first headquarters was founded in Monte Fresco, Nicaragua, and then in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Master's degrees were established, especially in business administration (MBA), and over time other master's degrees and management programs were included.
