The Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) of INCAE Business School has a new executive director, Ronald Arce Pérez, who took the reins of the Center on January 23. Arce assumes this great challenge in substitution of Prof. Octavio Martínez Argüello, who returns to his work within the Faculty of INCAE after leaving a great mark of leadership and excellent results during four years as director.

Ronald is Costa Rican and has more than 20 years of work experience, the last twelve of which he has worked as a researcher for CLACDS, leading research and development projects in different areas and countries in Latin America. Previously, he was an economic analyst for the Foreign Trade Promoter of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) and has consulted for different organizations. He holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica, and has received training on development strategies and international trade in different countries such as Israel, South Korea, Spain and China.

Within its work, Arce notes "we seek to strengthen CLACDS' contribution to the sustainable development challenges facing our region. For this we have a platform of professors and researchers that allow us to generate proposals and actions that meet the needs of different actors. Our actions seek to promote social progress and improve people's quality of life".

The CLACDS is the main think tank and applied research center of INCAE Business School. It seeks to promote sustainable development in the region through applied research, capacity building and dialogue. It works in close collaboration with government agencies, international organizations, private sector organizations and companies.
