We experience rejection in our lives, just as we do when we build our businesses. But when it happens in the business world it is experienced from a completely different scenario. No matter if it's a small rejection or if it's the rejection of the year, it's extremely easy to get confused in the overwhelming feeling of "losing". One rejection can easily lead to several days, or more, of letting go of the business and its functions.

If you are taking action in achieving your goals, rejection may be a constant in your life. If you have not yet experienced rejection it may be an indicator that you need to take more risks. Remember that growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone and start doing the things that scare you or keep you static. Here are four keys to dealing with rejection.

1.Take some time to scream and do catharsis.

You are a human being and you can't just bottle up and store your emotions, because at some point they are just going to explode. Allow yourself to be human, scream, run, hit something.

Speak up even if you are alone and recognize what is going on in your mind. Talk to your partner, to your friends, the important thing is that you recognize that the problem is there and that it can be fixed. You can't fix a problem that you don't admit exists.

2.Evaluate the "why" behind the rejection.

Our minds to try to safeguard us place rejections in "what is not good for us" when in fact that is not the case. Rejection offers us the opportunity that what we are doing is what is best for us. Evaluate what the rejection is about and where it is coming from. Determine if you are on the right track or if you need a different approach to achieve your goals.

If you need professional help, seek it. If what is happening to you is a message that what you are looking for may not be the best, listen. After catharsing and managing your emotions be strategic. A rejection can be a real headache or worse. But what happens after that event is your decision. The best option is to learn and become stronger, so that your whole endeavor is strengthened.

Determine your next steps

Your next steps after a rejection should be strategic and tactical. It is important to take adequate time to plan what your next move will be. It is important that you get right to the problem, come up with possible solutions and make a timeline. If you think you have a new approach to the problem that may be successful and that you can defend the same idea from that approach, go ahead.

4. Use every rejection as fuel for your motivation.

Building a business takes a lot of work and effort and there will be times when you don't feel like you are doing things the best way. You need to be motivated and inspired to keep going when things don't seem to be going the best way or the way you would like them to go. There is a mindset shift that can be that fuel you need to keep you motivated. Use rejection as the spark for a big fire and stay focused.

Every experience in life offers a lesson. Those lessons are what help you become a better version of yourself. Change the way you view and perceive rejection. Use rejection as an ongoing motivation to do your work. Ultimately being consistent and working hard to achieve your goals is what will build and strengthen your venture, not your emotions.

Experiencing rejection does not have to be the end of the story. You have the power to choose and you should never choose that which saps your inner power and determination. See rejection as a lesson and be strategic in planning for what comes next. We only have one life, make every opportunity, lesson and experience worthwhile.
