On August 21 and 22, for the second consecutive year, INCAE Research Camp 2024 was held at the Walter Kissling Gam Campus in Costa Rica, an event that brought together professors, researchers and doctoral students from INCAE, the University of Costa Rica (UCR), the Technological Institute of Costa Rica (TEC) and the Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT). This camp focused on experimental research methodology, offering a space for academic exchange and strengthening research skills.

 

 

The event featured a two-day intensive workshop entitled "Experimental Method Research: Theory and Practice", led by two renowned experts: Dr. Mansur Khamitov, Assistant Professor of Marketing at Kelley School of Business, and Dr. Elena Fumagalli, Assistant Professor of Marketing at INCAE Business School.

 

 

Dr. Khamitov is a specialist in consumer information processing, particularly in areas such as branding and financial decision making. He has published in leading marketing and psychology journals. Dr. Fumagalli specializes in consumer welfare, with a particular focus on loneliness and the use of technology and social networks, also published in leading scientific journals.

 

 

The camp offered a unique opportunity to improve competencies in substantive research and learn best practices for research productivity. During the sessions, both theoretical and practical aspects of experimental research were discussed, allowing attendees to delve deeper into key methodological issues and receive valuable feedback for their own projects.

 

 

In addition to the workshops led by the experts, the event provided a space for networking among the participating institutions, promoting future partnerships and joint projects in the region.

 

 

The INCAE Research Camp reaffirms itself as a pillar in the academic development of the institution, fostering the exchange of knowledge and promoting high-impact research for both INCAE and the academic community of Central America.
