On November 22, the third CLACDS/INCAEEmerging Young Civil Society Leaders Program kicked off, where 40 young people from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua will obtain the necessary tools to become agents of change and face the challenges of the future.
This third generation of the ExCeL Program, which began virtually this Monday, will finish its first module on November 25 and its second module will be held from February 28 to March 4, 2022.
"INCAE and our strategic allies share the vision that, in order to achieve a more just and prosperous future for our region, we need to invest in training the young people who will lead the changes necessary to forge that desired future. This is our main motivation for developing the ExCeL Program for the third consecutive year," commented Octavio Martinez, Director of CLACDS/INCAE.
During the program participants will gain the knowledge and guidance to develop and design a non-profit project that generates impact in their home countries, as well as manage teams and organizations for a more challenging environment.
The participants of this third generation will also receive lectures, case analysis and discussions, group work and simulations. In addition, they will learn the case method developed by Harvard University and used as the main teaching methodology by INCAE, which allows them to reason about a given problem, analyze it and make the best decision based on specific situations drawn from the real world, whose purpose is to sharpen and streamline the ability to make optimal decisions in a changing environment.
Topics will also include strategic thinking, social value generation, ethics and leadership, project management, effective communication for social leaders, political analysis, political economy and the role of governments, as well as teamwork, among others.
