In a moment of great emotion and pride, INCAE Business School, an institution with six decades of academic excellence and leadership, celebrated its first graduation ceremonies of this year on Thursday May 9th and Friday May 10th.

These graduations marked the closing of an academic chapter for 218 students from 16 different nationalities, students of the Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs, and four executive programs: Master in Data Analytics, Master in Analytics, Innovation and Technology, Master in Finance, Master in Logistics, Operations and Supply Chain.

Among the graduates, the presence of 64 women stood out, reflecting the commitment of INCAE to diversity and gender equity in business. Faculty, family, friends and administrative staff joined together to celebrate the achievements of the graduates, creating an atmosphere of support and camaraderie that characterizes the INCAE community.

The May 9 event was especially memorable, with the distinguished presence of George W. Logan, former president of the INCAE Foundation, who received an honorary doctorate degree from Roberto Artavia Loría, chairman of the Board of Trustees and former president of INCAE. In his speech, Logan praised the graduates for their dedication and highlighted the crucial role they will play in building a more ethical and sustainable business world.

The following day, May 10, the guest of honor was former Yale School of Management dean and founder of The Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), Edward A. Snyder, who captivated the audience with his praise of INCAE as one of the best business schools in the world. His recognition of the academic excellence and talent of the students resonated throughout the room, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

 

 

Academic excellence was also recognized with salutatorians and valedictorians at each ceremony. At the May 9 event, Daniel Ricardo Arispe Chambergo, Gonzalo Martín Bogado Orué and Cristina María Rodríguez De Gracia were honored for their outstanding achievements.

 

 

During the May 10 ceremony, Alejandro Vargas Solórzano and Omar Romero Aguilar received similar awards.

 

 

In addition, in both ceremonies the graduates took the oath of ethics, taken by Fiorella Diaz Camacho, President of the INCAE Oath Club and Juan Manuel Salas Boza, former President of the Club. Afterwards, tribute was paid to the dedicated professors of each graduating class, whom we also congratulate.

At this special event, tribute was also paid to the graduates who celebrated their 40th and 50th anniversary respectively, including the rector of the institution, Enrique Bolaños. This marked an emotional reunion among former classmates, who then shared a lunch, memories and experiences that reflect the spirit of the community Incaísta.

In addition to academic achievements, on Friday, May 10, EMBA graduates left a lasting legacy by donating a statue depicting the first Incaísta, Virginia Rodriguez Zecca graduated from MAE I in 1969 along with her 28 classmates.

 

 

This touching action not only honors the story of INCAE, but also inspires future generations of women leaders to follow in her footsteps.

 

Recognition of George Logan and Edward A. Snyder by the Oath Club of INCAE

 

Our distinguished visitors George Logan, former President of the INCAE Foundation, and Robert Bruner, Dean Emeritus of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, received an honorary Oath Club membership card from Fiorella Diaz Camacho, President of the Oath Club. INCAE Oath Club - Ethics Ethics. The ceremony was attended by the entire Board of Directors of the Club, as well as Wendy Rodriguez, Director of Advancement, and Professor Margaret Rose Grigsby, Club Mentor.
In addition, Juan Manuel Salas Boza, former President of the Ethics Club, presented the honorary membership card to Professor Edward A. Snyder of Yale University, accompanied by the former academic dean of INCAE, Professor Alberto Trejos, and Professor Grigsby.
The Oath Club was founded inspired by Nitin Nohria, former Dean of Harvard Business School. The Oath Club is a student-led organization that promotes the use of ethical standards in business and management through the MBA Oath and numerous activities.

J.J. Vallarino Award Ceremony

 

Rodrigo Porras Sánchez was the winner of the J.J. Vallarino award for the best article on his experience at INCAE and his vision for the future of the institution.
"Thank you Rodrigo for believing in INCAE, for carrying this institution in your heart, and for being proud of who you are today, a young leader ready to transform companies and society. We are pleased to celebrate this moment with you as a graduate, and thank you for sharing your valuable experience at INCAE" said Wendy Rodriguez, Director of Advancement, who announced the award to Rodrigo and his family at the end of the graduation ceremony.

In short, these graduations are not only a testament to the academic excellence of INCAE Business School, but also a reminder of the legacy of leadership, diversity and innovation that continues to guide the institution into the future.
