OpsSimCom 2024 was an intense and challenging 56-hour continuous competition. It started on Friday, April 19 and ended on Sunday, April 21. Fifty teams from business schools around the world participated. The teams from INCAE performed exceptionally well, led by Professor Luis Lopez. The "Saprissa" team stood out by finishing in third place. This is the highest position ever achieved by a team from INCAE in this competition. The "Mapaches" and "Maravilloso" teams also stood out, both of which managed to place among the first ten places.

Competition was challenging. The teams faced a complex scenario that included demanding financing rates (225% per year!), fluctuating demands, high inventory carrying costs, and a large amount of in-process products that saturated the production lines from the beginning. The teams showed great skill in implementing strategies that led to stabilization of operations and solid long-term growth.

Almost all of the INCAE teams added value and ended up with positive cash flows. In addition, many showed remarkable perseverance in overcoming initial stumbles and obstacles and moving their businesses forward.

Congratulations to all of you for your excellent performance, your hard work and dedication are a source of pride and admiration.
