Last Friday, May 26, MBA 2023 students at INCAE received a lecture on the implications and relevance of the FCPA as part of the course on "Ethics and Compliance" given by Professor Luis Emilio Cuenca.
The talk was given by Carolina Muñoz, an expert in providing advice to public and private organizations - both national and international - on the implementation, development and maintenance of compliance programs, especially on anti-bribery issues, management of whistleblower channels and internal investigations. The FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) is a U.S. law that was enacted in 1977 with the aim of combating corruption in the international arena.
For students at INCAE, understanding the scope of the FCPA, and all regulations that sanction fraud and corruption, is important so that in their future leadership positions they can ensure compliance and understand the risks and consequences of corruption from a business perspective.
