Annually, the Incaista Network and the faculty of INCAE join together to choose the Distinguished Graduate, a recognition to professionals whose paths find success, effort, impact and social responsibility, ethics and justice. This year, it is an honor for INCAE to have selected José Miguel Torrebiarte, originally from Guatemala, MAE XXVII - 1995 and CALI IV - 2010.

José Miguel, has led the restructuring of his company's corporate governance through the position of Vice President of Grupo Progreso, leading him to be named Entrepreneur of the Year by El Economista magazine in 2014.

Additionally, he has played a continuous proactive role in the economic, cultural and social development of Guatemala through positions as Director of the Foundation for Development (FUNDESA), Member of the Young Presidents Organization, Member of the Latin American Business Council (CEAL), President of the Mayan Cultural and Natural Heritage Foundation (PACUNAM) and Member of the National Committee of INCAE in Guatemala.

For 2015, the task of selecting the Distinguished Graduate was difficult as the nominees represented Inca values with spectacular trajectories. However, there was one graduate whose excellent professional performance, passion for the social development of his country and promoter of the highest values, allowed us to grant him this unparalleled distinction.

Enrique Bolaños, Rector of INCAE commented that "the selection of the Distinguished Graduate is a sign of the pride that INCAE feels that exceptional professionals like José Miguel continue to represent the mission of INCAE. Thanks to his example, we can ensure that through the formation of leaders, we are actively promoting the development of the region. Congratulations José Miguel!"
