We are pleased to share with you our participation in the BALAS 2024 Conference, organized by the FGV Sao Paulo School of Business Administration in the vibrant city of São Paulo, Brazil. This year's conference focused on "Innovation Ecosystems for Business Development", a crucial topic for contemporary business development.
The INCAE delegation was composed of professors Niels Ketelhöhn, Juan Carlos Barahona and Octavio Martínez, as well as our dedicated researchers Haydee Tejada and Jaime Güell. This talented team actively participated from June 18-21 in various lectures, panels, workshops and discussions of academic research and teaching cases.
During the conference, our team delivered three notable presentations. One of the papers presented, the case "Mashpi Lodge (a): Sustainability as a competitive strategy", was one of the three nominees for the prestigious "Best Teaching Case Award" of the Conference. The authors of this case are Professor Octavio Martínez and our graduate David Proaño. This recognition underscores INCAE 's commitment to excellence in teaching and research, as well as the importance of collaboration between our faculty and its graduates.
They also presented the papers "Innovation in Latin America: The Role of Collaboration" and "New Challenges and Opportunities for The Global Network for the Advancement of Management".
"We are very proud to have shared with more than 150 academics from Ibero-America, the United States and Canada the high-impact research we are conducting at INCAE. The interaction with colleagues who are experts in different areas of management allowed us to obtain valuable feedback on our work, expand our institutional networks and strengthen the international positioning of INCAE in knowledge generation," said Professor Martínez.
